This book is alright. I waited forever for it and to be honest, I am not disappointed but I am not "that was awesome!" I guess I thought differently of the book, I am not sure.
It was alright. At the beginning, I loved the characters. I liked Kendall first off because I liked how the girl had a "disability" or a challenge per say in her life. And growing up, I can relate. I may not have OCD but either way, it was relatable. (view spoiler)[So at the beginning of the book, it was good. When Nico disappeared, I was always wondering if he was going to come back? I had to keep reading. It did keep me on the edge, I wanted to know what was going on. But the beginning - it was boring. It took me awhile to be in the "zone" and when Nico disappeared, I was like, "I need to know if he lives or dies."
Then in the middle of the book, it got really interesting. But then at the end where Kendall is searching through the dirt because all the dead bodies. I was a bit disappointed, maybe sad. I didn't want Nico to die. Maybe he wasn't the main character, but it reminded me of "The Bridge To Terabithia" where the second main character dies.
I guess Nico wasn't the "sub-main character because he was the whole point of the book, but it was just sad. (hide spoiler)]
The book itself is good, but in my opinion it was a bit too short. It seemed short. I thought it was going to be another Wake's series. Or like be a hanging ending. Where you have to get the next book to find out what happens next.
But I mean for anyone who likes romance, horror, mystery books. c: Read it. I looked at the rates on this one and just because everyone doesn't give it five stars, doesn't mean it wasn't worth reading. Read the book and make your own judgment.
