really liked it
bookshelves: general-fantasy
Read in January, 2008

Tremendously fun and tightly plotted fantasy about the Gentleman Bastards, thieves who plan and carry out extremely elaborate thefts against the nobility. The city is very well-imagined and quite alive like the best cities in fantasy are, and the characters are all very well-realized. It gets surprisingly dark in the second half. Satisfying.
