Hercule Poirot strikes again with yet another page turner, mustache and string of ingenious Belgian/French phrases.

I am very proud of myself for successfully solving the case -- or rather figuring it out from Poirot's vague & mysterious observations and conversations. But still. It's fun to win. :)

I never really noticed how many political statements Agatha Christie includes... this text has a lot of attacks on society, particularly tourism, capitalism and despotism. It's no accident either; her statements are very bluntly and obviously delivered. Kind of an eye-opener.

Apparently Christie wrote 80 novels during 60 years. I don't about you, but that sounds like a marathon of crime. She totally deserved her "Dame Agatha" title for that. I just can't imagine coming up with more than EIGHTY crime plots (well, almost eighty -- she tried her hand unsuccessfully at a few other genres) in that about time. In ANY amount of time period. The woman had the mind of a master criminal. But she was also a master writer. :)))) Good combo, eh?
