I love, love, love, love this book! The first time I read it, I laughed the whole way through and for hours later. I was so excited about the book that I had to borrow a copy (from YOU, Marcie) and take it home to share with my husband. If there ever was a book that was written with only me in mind, this is it! In fact I'm wondering if Melanie Watt has been spying on me! It fits me to the tee! You could literally switch out the squirrel for me, except I don't live in a tree. This book is about a paranoid little squirrel who is afraid of everything, until he meets a "killer-bee!" From this encounter, he realizes he is a flying squirrel and his life is changed forever! This is a great read-aloud just to laugh with your students and/or it could help kids understand that fears are normal and that sometimes the best way to overcome them is to face them. I think a lot of kids could relate to this story, much like I have!! (HYS-terical!)
