I started off thinking this was a serious spy story and became disillusioned when some of the story elements started to stretch the limits of believability. (Anyone who has experience with thick forest, let alone a rain forest will know how totally absurd robotic tanks for patrol and security would be.)
About a third of the way through though I changed my expectations and outlook on the book. Viewing it as less of spy story and more of a James Bond movie. Seen like that, it was not so bad. Implausible villains and heroes but not a bad story overall. Some, not very subtly, moral to the story too. USA, fix your borders!
