Aside from Twilight fever that has been constantly hovering over the minds of teeners, one author that gained fever-height fame and acceptance is Paulo Coelho. It is not surprising to hear people looking for his books because I've read one of them (the Alchemist) and it was a good read, so to speak. So, when my eyes met the cover of this book, I picked it up for a try. But, my plan of scheduling it for a week was reduced into an hour. After painstakingly reading the first two chapters, I succumbed and returned the in my school's library.

Well, I know that Sir Coelho was trying to relay a valuable message through the story of Veronika, but he fell short of translating such missive in the form of literature. I didn't hate his writing style, I just don't like it and his inserts on interviews about the woman did not even add to the glory of the novel. Instead, it became a liability. But this does not mean that I will shy away from reading his other works. If there is a good one, then I'll go for it. But, if there's none, well, there are still a constellation of works to choose from.
