really liked it
bookshelves: fictions-of-the-big-it, america-f-k-yeah, childhood
Read in September, 2002

Better, I'm convinced, when you reread it years later than when you read it as a child.

Just wonderful- until you get the last 20 pages or so, and then the strange commentary of racism and race relations gets a little bit hairy.

I mean, they keep Jim in a barn filled with snakes as Huck and Tom debate on how they want to free him.

But, all in all, this is the real deal.
