This book started out pretty interesting; I was drawn to the main character (a teenager) visiting relatives when suddenly a war breaks out. The teens are left alone during a war and try to find ways to survive. There are some creepy "V.C. Andrews sleep with my relative" parts, but I guess it works with the story. In a sad/scary way. About 1/2 way through the book, the story loses it's "umph" for me and begins to drag. I lost the connection with the characters and just wanted to see how the book ended. I think the story is a great concept, but didn't quite work out all the way.
