This is the last book by Belva Plain, who died in 2010. I'd read several of her previous books and enjoyed their emphasis on family relations. The subject of this book is Iris Stern, a professor, married to a doctor. She developed her career after her children were grown. The contrast was her daughter who was developing a successful catering and writing career but had a husband who resented her success. Interesting insights on the struggles of 'modern' family life.
