This book was my introduction to Junie B. Jones. I had picked up a little paperback that had one chapter from several different books about 6-year-olds, since my daughter was 6 at the time. We read the chapter about Junie B. losing her beautiful new mittens, as soon as we stopped laughing, we headed straight for the library to check out the entire book (and a stack of other Junie B books, while we were at it).
That was years before I became a school librarian. Since that first book, I have read every book in the series, and I remain a devoted and true Junie B. fan. She may do some crazy stuff, use horrible grammar, and have a temper desperately in need of reining in, but this girl is funny, funny, funny.
