This was the first DS novel I read. Some characters touched me while it was almost a dream like story. Predictable of course, but readable. I loved the character of Alex, the Medico that she was. And yes, the message of second chance found in most of Steel's works. A hollywood novel in setting and credibility. Some characters were lovable and Jimmy's one of them. And the death of his wife was touching.
