it was amazing

Few books have made me cry. This is one of them. Mr. Lesley was my MFA advisor for two semesters, and to imagine such atrocities happening to such a precious person makes me swallow hard and thank God he made it through.

apwebb83 This review reflects my feelings exactly. I appreciate Mr. Lesley's story telling ability, but he did it so well that it is taking me time to process the atrocities of his childhood. He is a resilient spirit that continues to show compassion toward others in spite of their weaknesses. His mother and grandparents seem to be the quiet heroes, who loved him well.
