really liked it
bookshelves: favorites, addictive-rereads
Read from April 27 to May 04, 2011 — I own a copy

Just started and I'm not sure about this one. The author says it's her favourite though and I did like "Lessons in French"
Alright I have finally finished it and though my first thoughts were "this isn't grabbing me" by chapter 9 that began to change. There are so many facets to this story. Each one is pollished from the plain.

I thought it might be a trashy romance book. The cover made me think it was, but I was mistaken. I loved it. Truly the ending is unique and captivating. I could see it all run together like a classic 1950's movie.

The cultural details are addictive. The historical moments are of interest in the way things twist and turn for our characters.

I love Leda. She is like the bamboo. Read the book and you'll see what I mean. May it bring you the promise of ten thousand paper cranes.

Squallogal If I could give it 4 1/2 stars I would. Just saying. Gah! Now I want to reread it.
