it was ok
bookshelves: manga, shojo
Read in August, 2008

I read this about 3 years ago and didn't get past the first volume. So I decided to give it another try...
The first volume of this series suffers from a fault that is present in so much teen lit (and even children's lit, fiction aimed at women etc.) - a woman can't learn to be confident and comfortable with herself unless she has a man. I'm trying to curb a rant right now...
I'm going to keep reading the series to see if the situation improves.

Joy From what I'm told, it doesn't improve, nor does it even have the train wreck appeal of something like Hot Gimmick. That supposedly has equally wretched gender politics, but it is somehow appealing enough that several people whose opinions I respect have read it anyway.
