**Spoiler**
I really liked this book as it had a mystery feel to it, and at the end it had a flashback that uncovered everything and made everything make sense. In this book King Roland was murdered by his magician, who in 100 years only ages 10, covered the murder up by making it look like the oldest son, Prince Peter, killed his father to become king sooner. The second son became king at only 13, Prince Thomas, and he was advised by the magician whose only mission was to bring mayhem and trouble to the kingdom. Peter was locked in the needle, a tall tower over 500 ft tall which royalty were locked in instead of being beheaded. With the help of some of his friends that he had been giving and receiving letters from they helped him escape the needle undetected except by Flagg, the magician. King Thomas "killed" Flagg, so when he found out he didn't, he sent off with Dennis the Butler to find and kill him. Peter became king and never saw his brother again.
