** spoiler alert ** May and Gabriel's life continues...

Because May did not turn over the phalactry to Magoth, she is imprisoned in Abadon (hell)... she is 6 weeks there, and Magoth decided her best punishment for him to make her his consort - for a demon lord, he sure follows nice rules though - he doesn't come into her room unless she invites him, he doesn't force her to share a bed - but keeps trying to seduce her... hmmm 6 weeks pass, and finally Gabriel is able to make contact... and they agree that she should formally become his consort, allowing him into the human realm, with reduced powers...

So May and Gabriel are reunited... Aisling is still very pregnant, Drake is still overly protective.. At a dragon conference to decide about Fiat and B____, Gabriel gives May the phalactry (encased in platinum & on a chain) to safeguard - and the committee puts B___ as Weir.... then dragons appear at the doors, and start shooting... May shifts into the shadow world, where she sees maybeBaltic - an ancient, powerful dragon? a reincarnation? a scam? - and one who can inhabit the shadow world... she uses the phalactry's power to stop the maybebaltic, and the phalactry bursts & inbeds itself in her... and for the rest of the book, the passions of the dragons are trying to overrule her - (makes for great sex!) but she is fighting it, as she does not want to loose herself... and Gabriel is great about it - although drawn to her dragon side, it is May that he truly loves...

Her sister gets in trouble with Neptune, because she is too busy with Costa (she really wants to be his dragon mate) and she ignored the waters under her care...

So Baltic challenges her in the shadow world, and Gabriel and dragon May push him away... what real threat does he pose? we'll find out in the next book...

and they are working to bring together the 5 dragon shards, to disengage the one in her... they are negotiating with each sett... they have Drakes, theirs, & the red dragons...
