** spoiler alert ** When Kit's mother remarries and embarks on a summerlong honeymoon trip to Europe, Kit is taken to an eclusive, girls-only boarding school. She doesn't want to go, but, alas, she is dropped off anyway. Kit's first impression of Blackwood is one of evil and foreboding. When only four girls show up, and soon begin to exhibit previously undiscovered artistic and academic talents, Kit's suspicions are proved right. But can she stop it before it is too late?

The suspense was good, but once I figured out what was happening to the girls (early in the book), I felt a bit dragged down in the details.
