** spoiler alert ** An incredibly detailed yet humorous book about the the ways contemporary human beings (mainly Americans) are re-living the pre-historic omnivore's dilemma. Its a slightly academic, slightly journalistic, slightly diary-ish account of Pollan's navigation through America's overly complex and secretive food systems. It presents some alternatives. It also changed my life.
