Well this took me so long to read, not because of the story itself but life getting in the way! I finished reading this book in the middle of the night, again not beause I had to finish it but because my daughter came home from a night out & woke me up & I couldn't get back to sleep!
Although I did enjoy this book it didn't have me unable to concentrate on other things because I needed to read it. But the subject is close to my heart, as I'm a big supporter of same-sex marriage and believe that discrimination agianst same sex couples is abhorant and how dare other people judge their ability to parent a child just because they love someone of the same sex (see I'm emotional already & I do realise this is fiction but t happens in real life!). I won't stereo-type, but I think the writer adequately portrayed the religious authorities attempts to discredit a person with little or no truth & with ignorance of what it truly is like to be dedicated and desire to be with someone & genuinely want to be a family, just like anyone else. I did, as expected cried buckets in parts, being the emotional person I am, even so much that I couldn't see through my tears! I did find I predicted the ending early but the journey was worth taking. Not her best book, but the message & the fact her own son came out whilst she was writing the book I'm sure made it an very personal eperience for her.
I hope I haven't offended anyone with this review, if I have I apologise as it was not intentional.

Faye Stephens HI, I'm home with my leg in plaster. I'm going to ditch the book I'v started and am lookign for something else. I don't want to waste my time on so-so books any more. Fingers crossed you'll think this one is a good one.

Carmel Faye, I've been so slow reading this but it's not the fault of the book, should have it finished soon!
