** spoiler alert **
This is one of my favorite Stephen King books, if not my very favorite. This one also translated well to the silver screen.
As a sidebar, the cover freaks me out, but then evil clowns always freak me out.
Despite the evil clown in this story, the characters are identifiable, likeable, and I really cared about them. I rooted for them not only to survive, but to overcome their childhood foibles and to reconnect even as they faced childhood fears that threatened to paralyze them.
In this story, King really shows his insight into the human psyche, and his mastery of story telling.
Excellent, excellent book.
