Secrets of Bella Terra (Bella Terra Deception, #1)

This was a wonderful start to a new series. Loved the H/h Rafe and Brook. Rafe was rough around the edges for sure. Loved that Brook gave him back what he dished out. It was interesting for me that their relationship went back years. I mean since high school. It was one of those I have loved you all these years but we want different things and went our separate ways. But Brook was hurting over how things ended , while Rafe went on to do more dangerous things with his life but still loving Brook. I don't think he ever got how much she was hurting until he came back home to help his grandmother. There was a lot of pushing and pulling with these two.
There was some action... the Di Luca boys (men) are trying to figure out who broke into their grandmothers (Nonna) home and beat her up. I mean who does that to an 80 year old? Gezzzzzz anyway Rafe is now into security and thinks he can help his brothers find the baddie. I knew pretty quick who it was and so that wasn't a big surprise. The why of it was so stupid and in men and their pride and what they deem as theirs. But in reality I can see that happening. Nonna gets beat up, a dead body is found and the winery gets trashed. Thousand upon thousand of dollars worth of vintage wines. What a shame.
For me the ending was kinda quick. No I'm sorry I wasn't there when you needed at the hospital. But he did lustfully declare how much he loved her and that was hot! But what he said and what they did at the end was rather quick. I did like the set up for Eli's book though. That should be interesting.
