Recommended for: people who read it as a child. Modern children would probably cotton to the cures too quickly!

** spoiler alert ** This is one I remember reading as a child. As an adult, I can't decide if the concept is conformist or subversive. Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle is friends with all the neighborhood children and consultant to their parents when the little folk develop behavior problems with catchy names (Answer-Backer symptoms, Never-Go-To-Bedders). She has remedies for all, of which the guiding principles are giving the child a taste of his own medicine (bickering twins subjected to bickering parents) or taking the behavior to its logical extreme (picky eater given tinier and tinier plates and meals). Mrs. Piggle-Wiggle is a lovable eccentric, and the natural household order is preserved. Hmmm....yet they are kind of cute.
