This story would be good to read to a pre-k or kindergarten class. During this age they are attached to a certain item that many grown ups tell them that they are too old for it. I liked that Jackson found a kitten and saved it. He used his old blanket to keep the blanket warm. He shares his favorite blanket with the kitten and thekitten becomes his favorite item. I would have my class bring in their avorite item and write a poem about it.
