really liked it
bookshelves: norway-fiction, wwi-fiction, parent-and-child, espionage-fiction
Read in January, 2009

60-year old Trond Sander becomes immersed in memories of his youth in post WWII rural Norway and secrets he learned about his father's wartime activities. I admire Petterson's spare, well-honed prose to tell a complex story and develop complex characters.
