Loved: Seeing what happened to the old SVH gang, the scandalizing revelations, the fact that perfect Alice Wakefield, sainted mom of the perfect blond twins, actually utters the F word. It was very fun returning to the purple Pascal prose of my youth.

Wasn’t So Crazy About: Nothing, really. I mean, you know what you’re getting here, and it ain’t Shakespeare. What’s interesting to me is that I remember Pascal’s Victoria Martin novels, which have gone through several transitions (the first used to be titled Hanging Out with Cici, now the latest paperbacks have Amanda Seyfried on the cover) as actually being pretty well written, not the wooden prose of the SVH novels. But maybe that’s just me idealizing my adolescence again:)
