I have given this book 4 stars as it is the book that should have been written to start this series. First thing, if you are going to read this series then get book 1 (Turned) and this one at the same time and as soon as you finish book one then start this one as if it is one book.

In this book Ms Rice continued the story of a girl who is starting to change into a vampire and is caught in the middle of a vampire war that she knows nothing about, if fact she is not sure what she is becoming, how to handle the changes and just stay alive. In this book, a little more is explained about the different characters but she needs to expand the readers knowledge about the different people.

While older readers will enjoy this series it seems to be aimed at readers in their mid-teens.
