it was amazing
bookshelves: recently-re-read

sometimes I just need a little dose of the Glass family to put life in perspective, so I'm re-reading this

Kat I'm trying to figure out exactly what it is that I like so much about Salinger. I've decided for now that it's his world view. His narrators' perspectives comfort me because they seem familiar and make me feel less alone in my semi-understanding of the world. I'm not talking about the disgruntled teenager voice of Cather in the Rye, but the hopeful hopeless observer voice who is suspended between concepts and unsure of which world to place meaning in....hm, that's unclear, but getting closer, I think. His Glass familiy characters are just the types that might meditate on the concept of superstrings and wotnots. Whatever it is, I'm taking great joy in this years' re-readings.
