Lets see how long it stays on the "Reading" shelf.. good so far i am like 3 chapters in
so..the book was Meh, and i finished it a few weeks ago.
my main issue with it is the similarity to all the Burroughs I have read. If you changed the main characters name to John Carter and the basic setting you would have the same type of story.
When it was new maybe it was good, but it was pretty run of the mill by todays standards.
I read it mostly because I am a huge flashman fan and this is the story that was used as the basis for Royal Flash. Reading Zenda I see where the characters come from, how they were changed for GM Frasers work(and fleshed out and given some depth)
over all low rating
