So, I struggled about whether to give this book 2 or 3 stars...I decided upon 3 because I it does what it sets out to do, which is simply capture the reality of one man's experience. Wisner is left at the alter twice by the same woman and, to make a long story short, goes on an extended "honeymoon" over the course of 2 years with his brother that spans 5 continents.
Story-wise, it is a fairly interesting story...Wisner succeeds in depicting the little details of the travel experience in a pretty captivating way, particularly in the first half of his journey. Overall, though, the writing was a little weak and/or inconsistent at times...Wisner was a big PR and speech-writing guru, and my general impression is that the book would be better spoken than read for the most part.
