Not a bad thing to say about this one. I loved the story line, along with the perspective of Opal, the 10 year old girl. Everything in the story made you feel right at home, like Winn Dixie was your dog too. I would recommend this to any beginning chapter book reader along with the movie (after the book is read). The book teaches life long lessons like becoming closer and more open with your family members, how to care for another living being (a dog in this case), making friends in new places, and forgiving people you love. The book is heart filled and touching in various ways. I would recommend, even to my grandma!
