Read in March, 2011 — I own a copy, read count: 1

“As I finish reading the prologue, it strikes me that we spend an incredible amount of time and effort fighting to achieve. We determine what is to be done, and plow through all the divine messages that cross our paths in the name of our objectives. Perhaps it’s only after we’ve fought for long enough, lost a sufficient amount of blood in our self-imposed battles and come to terms with our permanent scars that we finally give in just enough to actually realize what’s around us.

“The pandemonium of modern day madness has become too much for us to control, so we turn to ourselves – not inward, but simply in the general direction of ourselves – and begin to prune. We snip away the illogical as we see it, we clip the creativity and shave the originality until we create sterility, all in the name of order. But it’s those longer branches and fallen leaves that grant us access to a broader perspective – one that includes passion, and joy, and courage to bet on faith. In this space of acceptance, achievement becomes a natural state, and the belief in the necessity to fight for whatever you believe should be yours is dissolved into the lush backdrop of humility, authenticity and grace.”

Kat Kiddles It seems to be a book that many people have wanted to read, or that they've read and consider one of their all-time favorites. I'm interested to hear what you think of it:)

Elyse Is the theme here that, its observed that people are a little resigned? (to their own goals and dreams?) ---

Our mind is powerful --(creative & powerful)---We could take ANY point of view! (could depend on the day)

People often change their life with spiritual understanding-(science and spirituality have merged to help improve experiences in life)----
I like Paulo ---yet---where do we want our spiritual teachers to put their attention?

I prefer them 'stretch' us --with possibility --[outside the box]---and from what I am reading 'above'---am I reading the sounds of negative hardship with a challenging uphill climb? (yikes---sounds depressing).
But? I would challenge that! I really do beleive when we change our thinking (and how do we do that is the question)....lol
we can SHIFT ourselves and the world in a split second: real miracles happen all the time around us!

Kat Kiddles I didn't pick up the theme of resignation, no. The book shares quite an encouraging message of resilience mixed with an air of humility and acceptance. There are no highs or lows, just a steady stream of reality represented in the life of someone who chooses the path of least resistance - not always the easiest, and in fact, quite often to most difficult.

Stretching is one way of growing. Another is imploding - cascading down into the depths of the places we least want to acknowledge. In a way, teachers tend to stretch, while we resolve to implode once we're ready to take the journey on our own.

You've sensed a truth in the words above - it's not easy. What is vital to remember is that this life isn't about the luxuries of ease and pleasure; it is one of purpose and method. The madness...well, that depends on perspective ;)
