The Reality Bug (Pendragon, #4)
by D.J. MacHale
by D.J. MacHale
Bobby is a Traveler, one of the Guardians, who help protect the territories from the evil demon, Saint Dane, who is trying to destroy them.
This book takes place in the territory of Veelox, where citizens spend their time "jumping" in Lifelight. This is sort of like a computer similation, yet feels totally real. Lifelight takes scenarios from your own brain and lets you live them in a perfect way. Technology has been invented that allows those on a jump to have their physical bodies cared for indefintely, so they can jump for very long periods of time.
When Bobby arrives on Veelox, it is to discover a largely abandoned city, because almost all of the citizens are in jumps. The world is falling apart, and Saint Dane is triumphant. Can Bobby, Aja, and Loor save Veelox? (I love Loor - she is very awesome!)
My daughter absolutely LOVES this series. The first few books are good, but in this book I can see that the series is improving. (She says the ending of the series is fantastic) Bobby's character is developing, and so are the characters Mark and Courtney, left behind on Second Earth. We begin to learn about the acolytes in this book.
I will finish this series!
