My 2008 Bookcrossing review

Collection of short stories, mostly set in New Orleans - all very gothic and melancholic and dark and gory with a bit of erotic overtones thrown in. Poppy Z Brite´s writing never fails to amaze me - she is such a descriptive writer without having to over do it, and really writes beautifully and evocatively.

Some stories are better than others. A few of these Id already read in the other collection of short stories I have by her. Of the ones that were new to me I particularly liked the one about those wierd twins and the one set in Chinatown.
