This book really made me think of the sacrifices one would/could make for their family. I am not sure I could risk losing my child because it is the "right thing to do". I enjoyed the way the character struggled with the decision even while moving forward in her quest to do the right thing. I must admit I cheered happily when discovering the results of the DNA test, but even more so upon finding out that Ellen continued to do the right thing by maintaining a relationship with Bill Braverman, despite the way she had been treated. Way to go for building a strong femle character!
