I liked the story, alot. This is a great way to introduce or reinforce the learning of mythology and encourages moral development in younger teens (middle school-junior high level). The main character, Percy must overcome desires to get revenge on those who have harmed him and those he cares about throughout the book, as he is discovering who he is and why these bizarre events happen. I really liked the author's descriptions of adults and adult behavior from the youth's perspective, too. Many of them seem to act illogically and selfishly while some, who I would call Percy's mentors, give him constant clues about how to deal with such behavior maturely and fairly, and that there are consequences for such actions as revenge.
