Not a bad read and a quick one at that but one which ultimately isn't truly neccessary and maybe would have benefited of being a stand alone tale rather than a Dracula spin off...the creation of this novel seems admirable enough and it's not a bad book...the Character of Dracula however does seem to suffer from a modern twist on the Vampire mythos and loses some of his gravity and alike Lestat becomes more hero than anti hero.
Countess Bathory as a arch enemy to Dracula is however a useful tool in this book and helps create it's own mythology..not bad ...but not essential.
