This book was boring and cliché from start to finish: from the so-called protagonist's name to the is-it-is-it-not incestuous relationship with her brother and their killing of creatures of the night, the book lacks anything exciting purely due to boring execution on the author's part. The writing is something that can be found in any mediocre teenage vampire book these days; though some of the ideas are original and interesting, the context around them is so drab and awful to read that they become redundant. The characters lack substance and all of them feel as if they are aboard the 2D Express. I rushed through this book, hating to leave it unfinished, and once I had read the final word I quickly rushed back to the library to return it simply so that I wouldn't have to look at it.

Don't read this. Honestly. Just don't.
