This book was a very difficult read, though I can't explain why. The topic was an interesting one, and while some of the ideas are a little dated, overall much of the information still applies, especially when it comes to morals and duty.

The most interesting idea, and one I plan to use with my Scouts is that instead of pitting winner against winner in races or competitions, to instead pit loser against loser. This gives a Scout who needs practice with a skill more chances to compete, and the Scouts are trying just as hard because they don't want to be the loser.
