The writing is simple and easy to read and the stories very short.

I love the humour Hermina finds in the everyday banal. These sorts of stories make us eternally and essentially human the fact that we are all different but we can relate to what others think and do as individuals.

Hermina makes her point and then leaves the subjects.

One of the most memorable stories in this book is about using a public toilet and having to take your young child in with you (can't leave them on their own) and then having them comment on every part of your toilet going to the whole world. Brilliant! Funny! Insightful! A real joy to read.
