I liked it because I don't think nearly enough attention has been drawn to this particular US sin (confining US citizens of Japanese decent to prison camps). It is through novels and movies that people are reminded of the times we, as a country, made the wrong choices. If we are allowed to forget these crimes in our collective history, we will be doomed to repeat them as many of us currently do with US citizens of Arab decent.

I didn't like the actual book however. Neither the style or the characters really caught my interest.
