Fantastic. I loved the way it was written, as two people remembering to each other their perspectives on their own story. I loved the relationships. It was richly drawn. A story about strong women remembering their own history and living through it, adding to it. The details in Cocoa and George's recounting to each other made it so real to me. They were completely drawn characters, full of flaws and humanity. I couldn't put this down, and couldn't stop thinking about it when it ended. I will look for more of Gloria Naylor's writing.
