Mrs. Boynton, widow and stepmother of a brood of adult children, has brought them to Arabia for a rare holiday. The family keeps to themselves, but Poirot overhears two of the children one evening saying "Of course, she will have to be killed." When the lady is found dead a few days later, Poirot is enlisted to find out who did the murder. As is usual in the Poirot stories, all the suspects are brought together at the end and the detective makes cases for several people to have done the deed.

This was a very well read audio book. The story was slow at the beginning while we learned the names of all the characters, but when the story moved to Petra and the murder occurred it moved much more quickly.
