it was ok
bookshelves: historical-fiction
Read from September 01 to 05, 2011

This book was very hard to read thru. It was too mechanical. It was rich in history and I did get much from that. It was interesting to me how set apart the Jewish nation was and many problems with the Roman government because of that. In essence they were trying to Romanzing the Jews. I thought about the church in this area and how we lacking. The Jews were serious about who God was, the religious leaders however, did get caught up in all the man-made rules. Basically the book uses historical facts about Pontius Pilates life before he came to governor. What type of man he was and how Jesus affected him. If you are wanting to read just for historical knowledge, this would be a good read, however, for a connection in characters, it was a no go.
