Nothing like reading a string of bad writing to make one despair that good writing exists, and then I come across gems such as this book.
The action and Edie's voice grabbed me immediately, and plunged me into her world: a star travelling world controlled by greedy corporations, ecosystem-creating bio-technology, and where crime could lead to slavery. Before I knew it, I was half way through the book and it was 3 a.m. on a work night. Finn is an interesting character, as well. Both characters had suffered such unfairness in their life, but their different experiences logically their to their different outlooks and behaviors.
The second half wasn't quite as gripping, but exceedingly good nevertheless. Highly recommended!
