Keeping the Moon by Sarah Dessen is a pretty good book. It's not my favorite book by her but it was still interesting. I really got to understand the main character and the problems she faced growing up. When I read her stories about being made fun of in school and constantly bullied it made me get really upset. It’s so sad how people go through life like that. No one should be bullied ever. I realize there’s no way bullying with ever stop because it’s life, but it’s horrible. I’m not saying I’m perfect because everyone at one point or another has made fun of someone else, but it’s just not cool. Reading this also made me realize how much I want to help people when I’m older. I want to be able to help kids get through these types of situations. Aside from bullying, the book was about friendship and a little bit of romance. Colie made some of her first friends by visiting her aunt that summer. She predicted it was going to be the worst summer of her life. It just go to show you that you can have the best time of your life when you least expect it. Keeping the Moon by Sarah Desson might not be one of my favorite books in the world, but it helps send a really important message.
