really liked it
bookshelves: children-s, humor

This book was right up my alley. Organized crime in elementary school? Yes, please. Lots of humor and intrigue throughout kept me reading. I loved the bond between Mac and his best friend/business partner Vince. I'd give this book to an older elementary school child because there is some violence and more complex issues such as poverty and mentions of drug and alcohol use. Fans of "I am a Genius of Unspeakable Evil and I Want to Be Your Class President" would love this because both books have plots dealing with secret underground activity happening in school and right under adult noses. My only issue was that some of the writing was a little awkward.
