Such a great book. As always, Sarah's writing is a treat and she creates characters that draw you in - and even though they are flawed, Sarah gives you a reason to love them.
At the heart of the story we have acceptance - coming to terms with who you are - or who you think you are! Highly recommend.
My only niggling complaint: SPOILER AHEAD - STOP READING NOW IF YOU HAVEN'T READ THE PEACH KEEPER:

It was just sooooo obvious when Willa discovered the newsletters...perhaps even before that, but certainly when she read the society newsletters regarding Tucker. That her grandmother was missing from society for a time, that she was pregnant, HELLLO...Sarah painted Willa as a smart character, someone who picks up on things...it really frustrated me that Willa didn't have her "AHHA moment" much much sooner.
Also - I don't understand why the grandmothers are no longer "friends" - yes, for a short time, there was a distance, but at the end of the book, it's perfectly clear that the women came back together and were tighter than ever.
The start of the book leads the reader to believe that something so horrible happened, Agatha was still trying to get back in Georgie's graces.
Also, the peach tree growing where Tucker was buried was very reminiscent of the rose bush in Practical Magic.
But, despite the minor blips, I still thoroughly enjoyed the book.

Sherrie I just finished today and I didn't even think about the fact that it was never explained why the grandmothers kept to their own sides of the nursing home. Good point!

Anne (Booklady) Molinarolo Who do you think was the Peach Keeper? I think it was Agatha. While SAA's prose was sometimes lyrical, a few times reading the novel her syntax got me & I had to read the sentence twice ~ jarring to say the least. I'm torn between 3 or 4 stars: God help me some parts were down-right silly, i.e. Willa knew the truth about Sebastian REALLY from his touch on her back? FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE!
