I believe page 203 in this book should rank
among the classics in literary biographies.
It is a discussion of Perec's shoes, and specifically
the detail of Perec's well-loved

Lobbs which can only be bought in a single boutique
on the Boulevard Saint-Germain.

Named after the Comte no doubt, in his
joyous wandering, must have good footwear..

Tosh Bellos also wrote an interesting biography on Jacuqes Tati. I always wanted to read this book, but I don't think it is in print anymore. When you have the chance write a review please.

The cover of my new book _More Cannibal Jokes_
might aptly describe my feeling about Perec
or this biography. Truly towering bio for a towering figure. How can I review magic?

Tosh I must read both books - yours and the biography. What I have read of Perec's work is pure enjoyment.
