The Girl of His Dreams (Commissario Guido Brunetti #17)
by Donna Leon
by Donna Leon
Leon's 17th Guido Brunetti book left a lot to be desired. It is made up of two completely seperate stories. The first involves a priest who is a friend of Guido's brother asking Guido to look into another religious man who is taking money that should be going to the Catholic church. This part of the book made no sense. I think it was just a vechile where Leon could spout off about how evil the religion is. Leon obviously has past issues she needs to resolve with religion.
The second part of the book deals with the drowning of a gypsy girl. This is unsatisfactorily resolved at the end with a character who isn't even involved in 90% of the book. Leon can do and has done so much better.
