The first book I've read by this author and to be honest I almost gave up ten pages in! At the start the language seemed very stilted, really short sentences made it uncomfortable to read ... But I persevered and was reeled in by the plot and actually quite enjoyed it by the end.

I thought I'd spotted the culprit straight away but the twists were pleasing and it was interesting to watch how the missing child affected the entire family, though I never really warmed to any of the characters.

So overall an interesting read and if I happened across another book by this author I'd give it a go, but I wouldn't go out of my way to read them all.
